Very Good yellow cloth-covered boards in a black paper dust jacket. Dark yellow and white lettering to dust jacket spine. Covers have faint dampstaining on top edge and slight darkening, else clean and intact, binding tight. Dust jacket has slight dampstaining on parts of the top edge and fore-edge, light age toning, and tiny chips along edges, else clean and intact, not price-clipped. Dust jacket protected in a paper-backed Mylar sleeve. Pages have faint dampstaining throughout limited to the top edge and fore-edges and light age toning, else clean and intact. Black-and-white printed photographs included. An autobiography by Josef von Sternberg (1894-1969), an Austrian-American filmmaker. He was a leading figure of the American film industry during the period that transitioned from the silent to sound era. He worked with notable actors and actresses of the time including Marlene Dietrich, Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks, and Greta Garbo. Sternberg was nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Director for Morocco (1930) and Shanghai Express (1933).
