Contemporary green 3/4 leather binding with blue and gilt marbled paper-covered boards. Top edges gilt. Blue and gilt marbled endpapers. Covers have moderate wear to edges, tips, and heads and tails of spines and slight chipping and splitting along front and back outer joints, else clean and intact, binding tight. Pages have light age toning and a former owner's bookplate (of "Horace L. Hill") tipped in on each front pastedown, else clean and intact. Each volume has a black-and-white illustration on half-title. A four-volume collection of the works of Oliver Goldsmith (1728-1774), the acclaimed Anglo-Irish poet, novelist, and playwright.
