Text in French. Black and beige paper-covered boards backed with brown leather. Gilt lettering and a few small gilt decorations to spine. Covers have light rubbing, slightly bumped tips, and moderate wear to spine, else clean and intact binding tight. Pages have light age toning, else pristine and intact. Emile de Keratry (1832-1904) was a French politician, soldier, and author. He was a supporter of the Franco-Prussian War (also known as the Franco-German War and the War of 1870 that took place from July 19, 1870-January 28, 1871. This is a reprinted deposition containing correspondence between Emile de Keratry, La Commission d'Enquete de l'Assemblee Nationale (the Committee of Inquiry of the National Assembly), and other officials regarding events during the Franco-Prussian War. Also addressed is the diplomatic mission to Madrid in 1870.
